We all have relationship trouble in some form or another. Two New York best friends recognized their relationship troubles were a foil of the other.
She commits early and falls hard.
He kind of plays the field.
It’s a social experiment from Timothy Goodman and Jessica Walsh. Best friends who found themselves single at the same time and seek to understand if they could change their typical romantic relationship behavior. (It usually takes 40 days to change behavior)

These accomplished designers agreed to see each other every day for 40 days, and partake in weekly therapy sessions. Occurring in April and March, the pair are now posting on a website about the experience.
There are ups and downs like any relationship (whether romantic or otherwise), but what you can’t get enough of are 2 things.
1.) The very obvious and introspective commentary on dating in today’s world.
We juggle work life, family and romantic entanglement, but very few of us excel at allotting time in the desired proportions. Jessica and Tim struggle with the work-life balance Gen Y-ers encounter every year. Plus, the average age of marriage in the U.S. has risen. We have certainly have different priorities, but also an array of possibilities on how to live our lives.

AND 2.) Jessica and Tim’s utterly disparate descriptions of what happened each day.
By answering the same questionnaire each day, the personalities of each are apparent. Jessica is detailed in her descriptions of restaurants, meals, weather and even the reason she did something. Tim seems to be descriptive only occasionally, but may be much more perceptive.

Their reflections on relationships and efforts to evolve are riveting. Besides being close, they sincerely care for one another going into the project, and are continually surprised by what they learn about each other. The duo also tapped into their network of artistic compatriots to supply typography and descriptive graphics for the site.
Even after this ends, I will continue to check in on Jessica Walsh and Timothy Goodman. It’s like a guilty pleasure that I don’t feel too guilty about. At all.
